"Gabbard told Fox News that Trump’s "support and alliance with Saudi Arabia" is "both providing direct and indirect support" to al-Qaida, and that Saudi Arabia is "providing arms and support to al-Qaida in Yemen."" When we(politifac.com) asked the Gabbard campaign to back up her statement, a spokesman referred not to Yemen, but Syria." What is this Gabbard campaign being referred to and who is the spokesman? Even if this is creditable, what is being said is that Saudi Arabia is providing arms and support to Al-Qaeda in both Yemen and Syria where this article makes it sound as though support can only be provided thru Syria or Yemen when actually it is both. Trump gives double the support to Al-Qaeda according to this article. "Terrorism experts told us..." how do we know the author of this article would know what an terrorism expert is? Cited terrorism experts state that "even if a case can be made that some of the arms sold by the United States to Saudi Arabia end up with groups aligned with al-Qaida, Gabbard’s attack goes too far in saying Trump is supporting the terrorist group." If that be true then those that supply Iran with weapons that end up in the arms of Houthis would not be responsible.

"Terrorism experts"..."GlobalSecurity.org made a point"..."Valens Global consulting firm..."; why not just say "according to the CIA" and be done with it. Organizations that contributed more than 5 percent of total PolitiFact revenues in the previous calendar: The E.W. Scripps Company and Facebook.

Misused Term

This article/fact-check misrepresents Tulsi Gabbard's statements. I'll leave it up to other readers whether or not the misrepresentation seems intentional. In the meantime, Tulsi has gone on other media outlets to explain her statements which, however harsh sounding, do have evidence to support them.
