Religious Bias

This piece does not cover any benefits of assisted suicide. It also bemoans how the practice hurts quality of life while never discussing euthanasia's benefits.

Pure Opinion
August 1, 2019
This article is packed full of the author's opinion on physician-assisted suicide. Author Monica Burke briefly explains some of the new legislation in New Jersey and programs around the world, but it's mostly to set up more of her stance against the issue. Very little actual information in the piece.

Slippery Slope
August 1, 2019
This article is an opinion piece that comments on physician assisted suicide. I disagree with some of the commentary; however, the ethical conflict for physicians is the single valid point they raised in their discussion. The rest is a bit over the top, and jumps on that slippery slope to ride it all the way to the bottom.

Pure Opinion

This article is labeled as commentary, but the opinion of the author is not one that I find value in on this topic. Has the author experienced this situation before? It doesn't say. This article is pure opinion, falling victim to a slippery slope fallacy as she calls out three specific instances where a 'slippery slope' occurred. It seemed clear that the author saw the headline for these and made no attempt to better understand why those cases were treated the way they were. Not worth the read unless you want an unsolicited opinion.
