Now it has pride of place at the musician's luxe Surrey home. Roger and bandmate both performed during the long-running musical's final performance, which saw Roger ask for the statue to be "put on a lorry" and brought to his pad.Asked by Classic Rock Magazine whether it was true that he still had the statue, the father-of-five proudly said: "Yes, absolutely. You can see it from here. "It was in a warehouse, costing money, so I said 'why don't they just put it on a lorry and bring it here, and we'll put it in the garden?'" And when quizzed on what Brian, 73, thought of him claiming the statue, Roger revealed: "I think he was pissed off that he hadn't thought of it [himself]."Roger had previously admitted Freddie – who died in 1991 due to complications from AIDS – would have found the giant sculpture "hilarious". "I have a statue of Freddie in the garden, which I love, it's great, it's very big. I also thought it would be very funny to have the statue there and I think Freddie would have found it hilarious. He would have found it really funny," he said. Rock band Queen was formed in London in 1970, and enjoyed international success with hits such as We Are the Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody and Another One Bites the Dust.Frontman Freddie tragically died aged just 45 from bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS.
