A New York staple more accurately described as an icy lake, calf deep and stretching just too far for an average stride to reach dry land. Usually accessed through and thin and dirty chasm dug into the snow, the filthy, freezing water laps into roadway, constantly replenished by melting ice washing the street's filth and debris into the pool.Pedestrians have a choice: the athletic leap/stride that always falls short or the brave wade into water guaranteed to breach the tops of boots.
