They came in with what they were wearing, and they either didn't have family to bring them extra clothing or they just didn't have much to wear. Not wanting to send patients out into the cold, Dakota decided to start collecting clothes to reduce any stress. Patients may feel about being warm and comfortable when discharged when someone struggling to breathe. The last thing when they want to worry about is what they're wearing. Some of the items being donated are warm jackets, sweatshirts and pants, washed and wearable, along with undergarments and socks. Those need to be unused. We already helped a few people, they were actually discharging and he didn't have a jacket, one of the patients, and he was just so happy. Messages of hope can be found around the field. Hospital Dakota says it's all about helping others. It's fluctuating. Some days are better than others. Some days we have a low census, but we're still very much in the heat of things and way.
