FRANKLIN, Pa. (WHTM) — Franklin County Emergency Services reports a major phone outage is currently affecting Cumberland, Franklin, and Perry Counties on Wednesday. Adams County is also experiencing issues.“Our technicians are still working hard to resolve a 911 service disruption for some customers in the areas surrounding Cumberland, Franklin, Juniata, Perry, and York Counties in Pennsylvania,” said the Lumen telecommunications company.This outage is affecting 9-1-1 lines and non-emergency lines. Text to 911 is still available in Franklin County. According to Franklin County Commissioners, “should an emergency occur, residents may TEXT to 9-1-1 or CALL fire, rescue and law enforcement departments directly.” Those numbers can be viewed at the bottom of this article.Cumberland County has provided alternative phone numbers citizens can call if they need to reach emergency services.
