You have permission to edit this article.CHIPPEWA FALLS (WQOW)- A Chippewa Valley prison is giving inmates an opportunity to prepare for a career once they reenter the community.A new job center is set to open up at the Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility in Chippewa Falls, the fifth to open at a Wisconsin prison.The prison partnered with the Department of Workforce Development to install 12 secured computers and phones for inmates to search for jobs, build resumes and set up interviews before they're released.Organizers say the program at other state facilities has been successful at giving inmates a head start on their lives before they rejoin the community."If they can apply for a job while they're incarcerated and then have a job lined up when they get out, that's amazing," said Aaron Heitman, corrections program supervisor at CVCTF.
