Surface Level

A surface level look at the referenced event. While the Author, it would seem, is attempting to engage in an act of broad and deep political analysis, what comes across is more of an overwrought, emotion laden, appeal to conscience. As such, the piece, while interesting to a minimal degree, ultimately wrecks itself on the rocky shoals of realpolitik. And this speeds it on its way to being a substanceless denouement. Not a worthwhile read.

Great Context

This article is packed full of great context and provides links to all of its sources. The tone of the article was balanced, but the only quotes provided in the piece were from the protestors. For even more context, I would have liked to have seen what China's official statement on the matter was. But overall a fantastic read.
