10:01 AM, Apr 04, 2020INDIANAPOLIS — The number of Hoosiers who have died from COVID-19 continues to increase, according to numbers released Saturday by the Indiana State Department of Health.The state heath department reported Saturday a total of 116 people have died from the coronavirus, an increase of 14 from Friday, while 523 more people have been diagnosed, bringing the total to 3,953.The latest numbers show Marion County with 1,570 positive cases, an increase of 155 since Friday.According to the state health department, the number of people who have died from the coronavirus equals , in which 116 influenza-related deaths have been recorded.→ Human coronaviruses most commonly spread from an infected person to others through: Respiratory droplets released into the air by coughing and sneezing; close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands; touching an object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands; rarely, fecal contamination.The best way to protect yourself from any respiratory illness, including the flu, is to: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
