Andy Beshear.But as the process moves forward, it remains unclear how vigorously House Republicans will pursue the idea."I'm going to preside over all of this, and so I'm not going to weigh in on that," Speaker of the House David Osborne, R-Prospect, said. "I will let the committee decide what they believe is appropriate."The committee will be chaired by Louisville Republican Jason Nemes and includes Republicans Kim King, Suzanne Miles and Ed Massey, as well as Democrats George Brown, Angie Hatton and Patti Minter.The petition was filed by four Kentuckians upset over Beshear's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Once such a petition is formally filed, the House of Representatives must refer it to a committee, under Kentucky law, said Sam Marcosson, a constitutional law professor at UofL.
