The Sun, A News UK CompanyA HEALER in Sri Lanka claims he has found a "miracle cure" for Covid-19 after the recipe was "revealed to him by a god".The bizarre claim was made by local carpenter Dhammika Bandara who said the syrup can treat and give lifelong immunity against the virus.Hordes&nbsp;of believers flocked to a Udumagama village in Sri Lanka, in a desperate bid to get&nbsp;to get their hands on his remedy.Huge lines were formed as more than 12,000 people queued outside his house in the Kegalle district after he announced he would distribute free samples of the so-called medicine.The ‘miracle’ syrup, known as “Dammika Peniya” became even more popular after Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi consumed it live on TV.According to local media, swarms of believers travelled to the small village,&nbsp;52 miles&nbsp;northeast of capital Colombo, on December 8.The mass gathering resulted in heavy traffic and police had to be called to control it and enforce social distancing rules.There were no arrests or fines handed out, although courts have the power to slap fines on those not wearing masks in public.The&nbsp;self-proclaimed holy man&nbsp;claimed on national television last week that the cure had been revealed to him by a god.He even shared that his remedy is made of bee honey and other spices and recommended two tablespoons twice a day to prevent getting infected or three tablespoons if already infected.According to , he told the crowd : "I am saying with sincerity that this preparation will not only cure Covid-19, but after you take this once, you will never contract the virus’.However he has not been able to provide any evidence to back his claim.Doctors say there is no scientific evidence to prove the syrup’s effectiveness.
