This piece is obviously investigative, but it's worth noting that there's no conclusive evidence that the person named in the article was the actual creator of the viral video. It's also worth noting that editing a video is not illegal. In fact, it's pretty standard on the internet and should continue to be allowed on social platforms. I think Hillary Clinton is being a being dramatic when she calls the clip “sexist trash", seeing as the video has nothing to do with gender. I also think Nancy Pelosi is wrong to call for the video's removal because it would just set a new precedent for Facebook's ability to censor content- already a problem many have with the platform today. Overall it was a bit worrisome to see a news outlet go to this length to name a private individual posting something on social media. The person that posted this video, which may or may not have been Shawn Brooks, could not have known that it would go viral and did not ask to be in the public spotlight.

Political Agenda

This article is basically an attempt to help a democratic official save face. It pushes an agenda, it mostly presents one side of the story, and it has zero vested interest in the truth. This article was about finding a scapegoat for more "fake news".
Well, NEWSFLASH: If you are getting your news on facebook, you are probably already reading loads of fake news anyway.
