Louisville Courier JournalView CommentsAs his apparent ire with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell continues to grow, President Donald Trump claimed Thursday night, without any evidence, that he "saved" the Kentucky Republican from losing his recent reelection bid."I saved at least 8 Republican Senators, including Mitch, from losing in the last Rigged (for President) Election," Trump wrote in a Christmas Eve tweet . "Now they (almost all) sit back and watch me fight against a crooked and vicious foe, the Radical Left Democrats. I will NEVER FORGET!"Trump falsely claimed that the election he lost was rigged. He also did not specify who the other seven Republican senators were that he "saved" in their respective elections.McConnell spokespeople did not immediately respond to request for comment Thursday evening.McConnell in November, defeating the former Marine fighter pilot by 20 points and earning a seventh term in the U.S. Senate.This tweet is the latest example of Trump's frustration with McConnell, who the Nov. 3 presidential election in a speech on Dec. 15 after&nbsp;Biden formally won the Electoral CollegeMore:Less than a day later, Trump wrote in a tweet directed at McConnell that it was "too soon to give up" on the election and that the "Republican Party must finally learn to fight."And , on Monday night, Trump's personal assistant sent Republican lawmakers a slide that shows McConnell's poll numbers improving after a June tweet by Trump in support of the Kentucky Republican and then an&nbsp;Oct. 31 Trump robocall.All polls from after Kentucky's June 23 primary elections had McConnell ahead of McGrath."Sadly, Mtich forgot," the slide reads in all caps.
