The author cites many supporting sources and walks you through his reasoning, which seems logical. I think I saying corporations are co-opting the message is a bit strong. I would say they are trying to give in as little as possible to try to head off more serious legislation. However, this is clearly identified as an opinion piece, so I don’t see the use of co-opting as an issue.

Bit of a fluff piece, really, but it does hit on the real problem that is our throwaway culture, and the corporates who intend it to continue in the name of profit. The article is biased towards a dim view of this reality, and doesnt really offer much in the way of information - it simply rants against it. While I am an advocate for right of repair, and articles like this are needed for the general public to "get" it, its still an opinion piece. Could be far better.
