A doctor will recommend next week whether Cobb should undergo surgery and not play again this season, allow it to heal without surgery and still not play again this year or attempt to rehabilitate the toe and attempt to return to practice and play again."At this point, I’m still in the boot and next week I'm going back to the doctor to get a little more clarity if it's going to be able to heal naturally or need surgery," Cobb said in a telephone interview. "It's been&nbsp;teetering back and forth. I'm hoping it can heal naturally and maybe there's an outside chance, a slim, outside chance I could come back this year.&nbsp; It’s definitely been a tough year for us as far as not being able to win more games. It's been difficult."Signed to a three-year, $27 million contract&nbsp; that includes $18.75 million guaranteed, Cobb has caught 38 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns. The Texans replaced Cobb in the slot with Keke Coutee, who delivered a career-high performance with eight receptions for 141 yards last Sunday in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts.Cobb, who purchased a home in Houston, is under contract for two more seasons. The former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers starter is due a fully guaranteed $8.25 million base salary in 2021 and a nonguaranteed $7.875 million base salary in 2022."I hope so, but you never know in this business what could happen," said Cobb, who caught 55 passes for 828 yards and three scores last season for the Cowboys. "I plan to be here. We'll see what happens with that. The most important thing is getting healthy and trying to get back on the field, whether it's this year or next year and getting ready for whatever changes may come (new head coach, new general manager). That's way above my pay grade, but I look forward to whatever happens."
