As construction hums along on , Lovett Commercial, the developer behind the mixed-use adaptive reuse project, on Wednesday announced six new food concepts heading to the downtown space.When the development opens in fall 2021 at 401 Franklin St. at the former Barbara Jordan United States Post Office, the 550,000 square-foot Post Houston will be home to a rooftop park, sustainable farm, concert venue, flexible co-working space, bars and restaurants.OPENINGS:&nbsp;Post Market Hall at Post Houston, 53,000 square-feet, will house 30 food and retail vendors. Six were revealed this week including:Salt &amp; Time Butcher ShopThe Austin-based butcher shop and boutique grocery store from owners Ben Runkle and Bryan Butler will offer locally-raised meats, house-made sausage and charcuterie, and gourmet groceries.The Butcher’s Burger&nbsp;Runkle and Butler’s second concept at Post Market serves burgers made with meats sourced directly from ranchers.Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken&nbsp;Denver hot chicken joint Lea Jane’s will present hot chicken and other southern-inspired dishes.Taco Fuego&nbsp;The Houston food truck will have a space at the downtown market hall. The kitchen here will serve Halal quesabirria tacos.Gelu Italian IceFounded in 2013 in Grand Junction, Colorado, this scoops shop will feature more than 30 flavors of ice cream, plus Italian Ice.&nbsp;SouPremeSouPreme will present Vietnamese pho and bun bo hue (vermicelli and beef soup) made with family recipes.Designed by architecture firm OMA and Partner Jason Long in collaboration with Houston-based LUCID United Collective of Independent Designers, Post Market draws inspiration from both the neon of night markets and the now-defunct Houston music festival Day for Night, formally held at the building.The Market features stainless-steel elements including seating, counters, kitchens; a glowing metallic staircase; and full-service restaurants, counter-service food stalls, and kiosks.Two stairways will connect the market hall to Post Houston’s Skylawn, the 5-plus acre rooftop park under construction that will feature additional restaurants and a farm.“We are beginning to manifest our vision for a pioneering food destination that reflects Houston’s diverse culinary community,” the president of the Frank Liu said in the release. “This is just the tip of the iceberg; we are excited to continue announcing additional vendors that will be dynamic additions to downtown’s food and beverage scene.”
