(WLBT) - MEMA Executive Director Greg Michel confirms one fatality in Walthall County during major storms on Sunday.Two people have also died in Lawrence County and four have died in Jefferson Davis County.Two One person was killed in Carroll County and one in Panola County.We are learning the names of the victim’s from Sunday’s storms.The identities of the two people killed in Lawrence County has been released.Lawrence County Coroner Sandra Lambert has confirmed that Lawrence County Deputy Robert Ainsworth and his wife Paula were killed.They were killed in their home on the Walthall/Lawrence County line.Walthall County Coroner Chris Blackwell has identified 44 year old Maxie Lowe, III as the victim in that county.In Jefferson Davis County, Coroner Dedra Johnson has released the names of their victims.They are Robert Earl Thompson, Joann Easterling, Nina Adams, and Bobby Williams.On Sunday around 30,000 people were without power across the state.We have confirmed one injury in Walthall County, others across the state are expected.Walthall County Sheriff Kyle Breland said there are many trees down and some homes damaged.UPDATE: one confirmed fatality in Walthall County according to Director Michel. We are waiting to get initial damage reports. Once we do we will share it.— msema (@MSEMA)Yazoo County Emergency Management Director, Jack Willingham has confirmed that a tornado touched down just north of Yazoo City.One vacant structure received damage, several trees have fallen and power lines are down. A response team is out assessing the damage.The Jefferson Davis County EMA Director said there seems to be considerable damage in Bassfield but she couldn’t confirm any roads or specifics yet.Lawrence County EMA says in the Oak Vale area there are chicken houses destroyed and mobile homes flipped over.In the Jayess area there are reports of multiple homes damaged or destroyed.Damage assessments are ongoing.Copyright 2020 WLBT.
