They now expect the electorate to accept their word that Biden has won the presidency — a month before he is actually elevated to that office by the Electoral College.Even worse, having called the election for Biden without any legal or moral authority to do so, they are now hectoring President Trump to concede. USA Today, for example, : “The whole world is watching, waiting for Trump to concede.” We are told that such concessions are an honored American tradition. This takes no small amount of chutzpah, considering that the media never accepted his legitimacy. Instead, they actively abetted Democrat attempts to remove him from office by dishonestly “reporting” the Russia collusion hoax and the impeachment farce. More importantly, calls for Trump’s concession are potentially dangerous. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) :This is a contested election. The media doesn’t decide who becomes President. If they did you’d never have a Republican President forever, so we’re discounting them.… The Trump team has canvassed all early voters in absentee mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania and they found over a hundred people I think were dead, but 15 people that we’ve verified to have been dead.… If Republicans don’t challenge and change the U.S. election system, there will never be another Republican president elected again. President Trump should not concede.Why would such a concession be dangerous? If widespread and highly publicized election irregularities are not addressed, it will destroy the credibility of our electoral process. As Christian Mysliwiec at the Daily Signal, “The reason our democratic republic has functioned as well as it has for the past 231 years is because of our trust in the electoral process.” If that faith disappears because the Democrats block attempts to verify the accuracy of vote counts and the media continue to make the utterly implausible claim that election fraud is virtually nonexistent, it will have a profoundly destabilizing effect. Ironically, it would also hobble a nascent Biden presidency.After the smoke clears, the 2020 election will have left the Republicans in control of the and the Democrats desperately clinging to a tiny House majority. If the electoral skulduggery is as bad as it appears, the new Biden administration will face an uncooperative GOP Senate and will produce a very short list of “accomplishments” that will neither satisfy disillusioned Democrats nor mollify 71 million still-angry Trump voters. After the 2022 midterms are over, Biden will be saddled with GOP majorities in both houses of Congress. This is all but inevitable if the Democrats dissemble and the media continue to publish risible nonsense like from Ezra Klein at Vox:Joe Biden has won the presidency. But the current president of the United States, Donald Trump, is attempting a coup in plain sight. “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!” he tweeted on Saturday morning. This came after he demanded that states cease counting votes when the total began to turn against him.… The Trump administration’s current strategy is to go to court to try and get votes for Biden ruled illegitimate, and that strategy explicitly rests on Trump’s appointees honoring a debt the administration, at least, believes they owe.Klein is obviously alluding to Justice Amy Coney Barrett in this last sentence. Evidently, he still hasn’t taken the time to peruse the nation’s founding documents. Back in 2010, you may recall, Klein appeared on MSNBC and delivered himself of the following Solomonic : “The issue with the Constitution is that the text is confusing because it was written more than a hundred years ago.” Presumably, he still believes this ancient and horribly confusing document was written by contemporaries of the Wright brothers. Klein and most of his fellow “journalists” are clearly having difficulty decoding the passage that stipulates how a president is elected. Does it seem ?The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress …You will note the conspicuous absence of any reference to the media. AP has no more authority to declare Biden the winner of the election than does your cat. More importantly for the 2020 election, it provides no authority whereby a court may override the manner in which a state legislature chooses its electors. The Elections and Electors Clause is the primary cause of action in the lawsuit just by the Trump campaign against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Trump will win this lawsuit and most of the others his campaign has filed because the states involved circumvented the Constitution. Trump would be crazy to concede the election.
