Hogan's Emergency order,” said MVA administrator Chrissy Nizer.That means you don't need to renew any of those until 30 days after Hogan lifts the Emergency Order related to the pandemic. The MDOT MVA has tried to make everyone aware.“We've reached out to law enforcement, not only in Maryland, but also throughout the country. We also, through the Department of Commerce, have reached out to the business community, so that includes the banks, the pharmacies, as well as employers,” Nizer said.Marylanders say the extension is helpful, but some still choose or need to do business at the MVA.“I want to get things done as quick as possible. I don't want to wait till the extension,” one MVA patron said.“I don't really feel safe driving around with bad tags or old tags or nothing at all, so it just feels safer to try and get this done,” said MVA patron Saranna Kinard.There are safety procedures in place. The line forms outside for health screening questions and temperature checks, the number of people inside the building is limited, plexiglass separates workers from customers and frequent touch points are cleaned often. The best thing to do before you head down is to make an appointment.“We do, obviously, have our call center as well, so they're able to help answer questions, but I will say we're having a high volume. Obviously, it's a unique circumstance, so I just ask customers to be patient.
