NorthJersey.comView CommentsThe New Jersey Labor Department said it "successfully processed" the additional $300 a week in federal jobless benefits on Thursday.Eligible workers should expect to see a payment "over the next couple of days" depending on their bank, an agency spokesperson said.&nbsp;On Wednesday, the state agency said processing the supplemental unemployment, and it&nbsp;took down the state's unemployment certifying application to "consolidate resources into making the $300 payments," spokesperson Angela Delli Santi said.By Thursday morning, New Jersey transmitted the file of $1.2 billion worth of eligible claimants' payments to Bank of America, which will then pass&nbsp;out the payments to workers' banks and debit cards, Delli Santi said.&nbsp;NJ unemployment:&nbsp;NJ election:&nbsp;"As we have said, processing these payments required us to develop new programming that had not been tested previously," Delli Santi said."The payments took longer than anticipated to process, but we were successful within the time frame specified ... the week of Oct. 19."Workers who lost hours or jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic between Aug. 1 and Sept. 5 are eligible for up to an extra $1,800 in jobless benefits, as long as they also receive $100 a week in state unemployment.&nbsp;After an extra $600 a week in unemployment benefits expired in July under the stimulus CARES Act, congressional leaders could not agree on&nbsp;a replacement program.
