Reid Armstrong, public affairs specialist for the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, said they are the “biggest we are aware of,”&nbsp; exceeding closures caused by historic flooding in 2013 that struck the Front Range and inundated the town of Lyons.The closures were prompted by the Cameron Peak, CalWood and Lefthand Canyon fires. I ask all of our local residents and visitors to take these closures and evacuations seriously to allow our firefighters to focus on the mission of safely suppressing the existing fires.”Nearly 442,000 acres in north-central Colorado and southern Wyoming have been affected by this season’s wildfires, according to the Rocky Mountain Coordination Center. Approximately 3,000 firefighters and support personnel are involved.
