Well Sourced

A nice bit of science reporting. However, the Author's almost giddy tone may be off-putting to some readers, particularly given the serious nature of the subject matter. Additionally, she falls a tad prey to overstating the case with regard to the science referenced. Also, some of the speculation, light though it is, reflects poorly. The quoting and commentary are relatively good and helpfully expository. The access to a large body of the referenced work is most welcome and for those interested enough to seek it out, well worth the effort. Aside from the aforementioned minor quibbles all in all a worthwhile and fascinating read. Three stars!

This piece touches on an interesting subject, with science that provides insight into a critical juncture of human evolution. It is moderate length article that could have been more concise, and the speculation is not useful to the reader. I would have liked more depth.

Great Context

The article gives good context and overview but ultimately leaves me wanting for more details and specifics. It also gets a bit repetitive at times with the same or similar quotes being repeated throughout the piece. Overall pretty good, but it could have gone deeper.
