&nbsp;Tuesday, Sep 13th 2022| 473Shocking surveillance video has captured the moment a brawl broke out in a Big Apple bodega, with two of the assailants wielding machetes.&nbsp;The wild fight occurred Sunday afternoon in The Bronx, with two men running into the store to escape a group of attackers who were trailing close behind.&nbsp;Footage of the altercation was released by the&nbsp;United Bodegas of America Association on Tuesday as they begged mayor Bill de Blasio to take action against soaring rates of .&nbsp;'We are small businesses that are trying to invest our money in this city, and as you can see the gangs have taken over,' the association's spokesperson,&nbsp;Fernando Mateo, toldIn the footage, one of the men who ran into the store can be seen brandishing a machete.&nbsp;A man outside the store also looks to be holding a similar style of weapon.&nbsp;&nbsp; Mateo said the bodega owner was forced to cower behind the counter of the store as the violent scuffle took place.&nbsp;&nbsp;'The owner of the bodega is a family man, married with five children, ages one to 21,' he continued.&nbsp;'He picked up his kids and he left town last night because he's fearful for his life. He's fearful that something is going to happen to him because there will be arrests made, which he has nothing to do with.'According to the police, one of the men who fled into the store was slashed across the face during the fracas.&nbsp;The victim can be seen in the surveillance footage clad in a red shirt.&nbsp;&nbsp; Police and ambulance crews were quickly called to the scene, prompting the group of men outside the bodega to flee.&nbsp;No arrests have yet been made and the condition of the injured man is not currently known.&nbsp;Just last week, a teenager was rushed to hospital after being attacked with a wooden plank and slashed with a knife outside a separate bodega in the Bronx.&nbsp;The United Bodegas of America association is calling on Mayor de Blasio to do more.&nbsp;'Mayor de Blasio must refund the police,' Matteo stated.&nbsp; 'We need public safety in our hoods, we pay for that protection and we are not getting it. Too many victims, too many killings, too many crimes committed in New York City.
