People should remain six feet away from trick or treaters and place the candy inside the child’s bag instead of having them take it from a bowl."We're not standing in the way, we're just giving you clear guidance on how you can do that safely. For those who don't want Halloween or want kids coming up to your door, maybe you have a pre-existing condition, you can probably skip this Halloween and keep the door closed," Gov. Ned Lamont. said.&nbsp;The Dept. of Public Health said it based its guidelines off of the CDC's guidelines for Halloween. The CDC's guidelines for Halloween can be found .&nbsp;"We don't think it is necessary to cancel Halloween activities, but there are different risks associated with the traditional activities on Halloween night and we're recommending people avoid those activities," said Dr. Deidre Gifford, Dept. of Public Health Commissioner.&nbsp;Halloween is Kaitlyn Collier’s favorite holiday"The wings and the black dress, it’s going to be cool," she said Thursday.But this year, the costume will likely come with a mask"A black one or something, it’ll fit right in," Collier said.That’s just one of the many recommendations coming from the state Department of Public health regarding Halloween safety.As the cases increase slightly this week, the state is issuing this guidance, not as an order, but more of a suggestion.The state suggests a bowl of candy be left out or people create individual goody bags.Folks we talked to look forward to rolling with these suggestions."Maybe put like spooky traps on the side of the houses and you have to avoid them to get to the bowl, things like that, where you’re not interacting with them, but they’re still enjoying getting to the candy," Jose Santos said Thursday.Again, these are recommendations, not an executive order, so don’t expect any enforcement.The only thing that could get people in trouble is if they’re violating the large gathering order, which by the 31st, will have increased to 100 people inside and 250 people outsideFor the full list of guidelines, click .Copyright 2020 WFSB (Meredith Corporation).
