HALL COUNTY, Ga. — With fall weather now here, Georgians will try to enjoy time outside as much as possible. But some may still be a little leery of going to places with lots of crowds during the pandemic.Channel 2′s Dave Huddleston visited Buford, where you not only can practice social distancing, but have fun getting lost inside a corn maze.It’s always been Rodney Miller’s dream to own a corn maze.“There wasn’t anything here then,” he said. “I always say, we grew this thing from a broken down pickup and an old tent.”Miller opened the Buford Corn Maze in 2009 on the corner lot at Ga. 347 and Hog Mountain Road in Hall County. Attendance has grown every year since then and it gains a lot of attention.Recently, Country Living Magazine named it one of the best corn mazes in the country two years in a row.“We were really shocked. We had no idea we were even being considered," Miller told Huddleston.TRENDING STORIESHaving a good time is one thing, but what about safety during a global pandemic?Buford Corn Maze created signs that remind people of the safety precautions and employees will stay about 15 feet away from people when possible. The maze owners want people to take the message seriously.“We created guidelines, pretty strenuous guidelines there on our website. You can look at those," Miller said.
