While somewhat sensational in his wording, Darren Samuelsohn wrote here a short yet informative article on Rosenstein's recent statements warning Americans about the credibility of quotes from "anonymous officials".

What could have simply been reported as a statement made by a Trump administration official is instead framed using negative adjectives that attempt to create a tone of dread or foreboding over pretty basic statements. Article is more about this forced tone than the relatively bland statements themselves.

This article seems to invalidate Rosenstein's defense of Trump and attacks on the Washington Post and New York Times without any evidence to the contrary. While this whole issue is shrouded in ambiguity, the author seems only to highlight the side defending Trump from these allegations.

This article uses sensational language throughout, painting a negative image of Rosenstein who's quote in the article actually sounds quite measured: “Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous ‘officials,’ particularly when they do not identify the country — let alone the branch or agency of government — with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated,” Rosenstein said. “Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations. The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations.” The author uses unnecessary language such as "lashed out", "consternation", and "unusual, vague statement".
