The overall gain was lower than what Nevada saw in May, June or July.Still, the unemployment rate is below the peak of 13.7% recorded during the economic recession from over a decade ago, he said."The challenges posed by the pandemic continue to weigh on the labor market, and the response to COVID-19 by businesses and the public continues to evolve. Although the labor market continues to improve, we still have a long road ahead for a full recovery," Schmidt said.The national unemployment rate for August was 8.4%, or 8.5% unadjusted for the season.
