Police are looking for a woman who tried running down a man with her car in west Houston after he confronted her for not picking up her dogs’ feces, according to court documents.The woman, identified in court records as Martha Garza-Melchor, often took her unleashed dogs to a vacant lot in the 9800 block of Clay Road, where neighbors of the Spring Branch North area told investigators her dogs would often relieve themselves.“She always has her dogs off of a leash, and never picks up after the dogs go to the bathroom,” a Houston police investigator cited as one of the neighbor’s complaints.During one such occasion on Aug. 26, a nearby resident decided to record video of the woman not picking up after the dogs, the investigator detailed in a probable cause document.What happened next is as follows: Another resident inside her home heard a woman yelling. She went outside and saw Garza-Melchor behind the wheel of a car as she tried to run over the neighbor, police said. The resident called 911 as the woman drove off.In a later interview with investigators, the witness again said she saw Garza-Melchor try running over her neighbor “once by driving forward and the other by backing up.”More for youGarza-Melchor, charged Sunday with aggravated assault with a weapon, did not dispute during a phone call with a detective that she drove her car toward the neighbor. She repeatedly admitted to it “because she was frustrated with him,” the investigator wrote in court documents.As of Tuesday, Garza-Melchor has not been apprehended.
