Arizona Republic If you're looking for a break this week&nbsp;from Phoenix's more than 110-degree streak, you may not have to look very far.&nbsp;High temperatures on Tuesday are forecast to be 101 degrees while Wednesday could be as high as&nbsp;91&nbsp;degrees, according to Austin Jamison, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.&nbsp;The low temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Wednesday morning was forecast to be 71 degrees, and some areas across metro Phoenix could see temperatures in the 60s, Jamison said.&nbsp;"Yeah, so pretty dramatic drop," Jamison said.&nbsp;"That's pretty unusual this early."High temperatures in Phoenix for the past month lingered around 110 degrees, according to officials.&nbsp;August took the title&nbsp;forin Phoenix since tracking began in&nbsp;1896.Jamison said the cooler temperatures in Phoenix this week were caused by a cold front sweeping down from the north.&nbsp;"It's&nbsp;coming from the very far north regions of the northern hemisphere," he said.&nbsp;"It's just pushing down through Canada through the western U.S. and ... it's&nbsp;going to affect much of the country here."If you don't mind driving for more than two hours for even cooler weather, freezing temperatures were&nbsp;forecast&nbsp;in parts of northern Arizona on Tuesday and Wednesday nights,&nbsp;according to a tweet from the Weather Service in Flagstaff.&nbsp;Breezy to strong&nbsp;winds were anticipated along with the cooler temperatures around Phoenix on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Jamison. It could kick up dust and cause the sky to become hazy with smoke from&nbsp;ongoing fires&nbsp;in California, he said.A slight chance of thunderstorms was also in the forecast for the Phoenix area Tuesday afternoon, Jamison said. Most of the storm activity&nbsp;was&nbsp;anticipated to occur in the far north and east portions of the Valley, he said."Otherwise a good portion of northern and eastern Arizona&nbsp;will&nbsp;see some showers and thunderstorms when that&nbsp;front pushes through," Jamison said.
