(WKRN) — Update: There are now three people killed in the crash, according to the Warren County Sheriff.Original: At least two people are dead after a small plane crash occurred out of the Warren County Memorial Airport Tuesday morning, according to McMinnville police.Authorities at the scene confirmed 3 people were in the plane at the time of the crash that occurred in a field on the other side of the runways. News 2 has confirmed it was a single-engine Piper PA-28 airplane and part of the Lebanon Flying Club.The farmer who owns the land, Jerry Wiser, was cutting his grass at the time the plane went down. He said it looked like the plane had just taken off against the wind, next thing he knew he heard a boom, turned around and the plane had crashed just 50 feet behind him.He rushed over to help and he said three people– two men and a woman were inside.Wise said he tried to call 911 while another neighbor tried to cut them loose, “He tried to pull them out while I was on the phone with 911 but he couldn’t. They were pinned in. First responders got here pretty fast, got the jaws of life and cut the top of the plane off,” he explained.Wiser has lived here for 75 years and has witnessed two other plane crashes in the last couple decades, one was fatal.News 2 is still waiting to confirm the condition of the third person who was on board the plane when it crashed.Police told News 2 that a first responder believed the victims are from Mt. Juliet.The plane is registered to the Lebanon Plane Club.
