Police say a nightclub patron was shot and killed by a bouncer after firing shots into the air inside the club.6:43 AM, Aug 15, 2020SALT LAKE CITY&nbsp;—&nbsp;One person is dead and two others have been arrested after a shooting at a club in downtown Salt Lake City early Saturday morning.According to Lt. Carlos Valencia with Salt Lake City Police, the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at "Echo," located at 134 West Pierpont Avenue.A male patron who has been identified as 27-year-old Gustav Denecamp was reportedly patted down, but then left and re-entered through a side door.Multiple witnesses confirmed he fired several rounds into the ceiling, which prompted a bouncer to fire at Denecamp.He then fled the building, and succumbed to his his injuries outside.Two bystanders were later arrested after interfering with the police investigation. They have also reportedly been charged with assault on police.The bouncer who shot the suspect is cooperating with authorities, and the investigation remains active.Echo nightclub issued a statement, saying:"We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that happened at our club Friday night. Thanks to the quick actions by an employee to stop the shooter, our patrons and staff were unharmed. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement to aid in their investigation and will continue our efforts to the best of our abilities to maintain a safe environment for our customers and staff."This is a developing story.Copyright 2020 Scripps Media, Inc.
