Has encouraged me to read the book. I do not think our founding Fathers wanted a simple majority to rule a large minority. And example of this would be the filibuster rules which allow a significant majority to slow down consideration of legislation if only a simple majority exists. The rules require a “Super majority” in order to overcome the objections of a large enough minority. This requires compromise and is exactly what the founding fathers were seeking.
