Robinhood also will set up a similar office in Tempe, Ariz.“With our customers’ interests and needs front and center, we will continue reducing response times, building more self-service tools, and enhancing the information and education we provide to enable more informed investment decisions,” the company said in a statement.Southlake and neighboring Westlake have become a center for financial services firms setting up shop in Texas in recent years. Charles Schwab in late 2019 that it would move its headquarters there from California once it completes its $26 billion acquisition of TD Ameritrade.“Companies select Southlake for a reason,” Southlake Mayor Laura Hill said in a statement. “They want to be part of this amazing community and all it has to offer. We wish Robinhood the best of luck as they expand their business to include Texas.”Robinhood declined to share details on the location of the new office or average salaries for the positions it’s hiring in North Texas, but said it believes Southlake is an ideal location for the financial technology company to scale and thrive.“There is a wealth of highly skilled and trained registered financial representatives that will play an important role as we continue to scale and improve our customer support experience,“ a Robinhood spokesperson told The Dallas Morning News.Robinhood employees across the country are still working remotely through the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the company.The startup, built around the idea of “democratizing finance for all,” that it outperformed rivals Charles Schwab and E-Trade in monthly trades.Robinhood saw 4.3 daily average revenue trades in June — more than Schwab and E-Trade combined.
