India was the seventh country in which Amazon launched Flex.Through the Amazon Flex app, users with two-wheelers can sign up and choose a schedule to deliver packages. They earn up to between $1.61 and $1.87 an hour.The expansion reflects a growing demand for Amazon deliveries in India. The company said that the expansion of Flex has created tens of thousands of part-time jobs for students, homemakers, and others."Amazon Flex partners enjoy the part-time opportunity to earn more, especially at this time when the country is economically recovering from the impact of the nationwide lockdown," said Prakash Rochlani, last mile transportation director at Amazon India.The company said the health and wellbeing of its staff was its main priority.&nbsp;"We are taking the right precautions, and have implemented a series of preventative health measures," said Rochlani.In May, the e-commerce giant had announced that it had 50,000 job openings for its fulfillment and delivery network, which includes the Flex program.These roles are contractual and seasonal, and work depends on local demand.Sign up for notifications from Insider!
