And that’s putting it mildly.The former gubernatorial&nbsp;candidate and state representative on Friday ripped into a&nbsp;recent mask mandate, which includes&nbsp;DeSoto County where Foster&nbsp;lives, and called on Mississippians to outright ignore it.He said he would defy social distancing mandates as well and challenged Gov. Tate Reeves, , to respond.“With all due respect Mr. Governor, I am openly defying your public mask mandate and social distancing executive orders. Now, what are you going to do about it? I would like to see you come up here and try and make me wear a mask!" Foster wrote in a lengthy post on his Facebook page.&nbsp;Foster said protesting is not enough to combat the governor's order. He called for civil disobedience.&nbsp;"I’m not calling for a protest I’m calling for something even more powerful. I’m calling for you to be Civilly Disobedient. I’m calling for you to defy these unlawful Liberty infringing and financially crushing small business mandates. What’s it going to be Mississippi, Liberty or Tyranny?” Foster wrote.&nbsp;Foster's comments were met with majority support from the more than 1,700 commentators on the page, many of whom promised not to wear a mask themselves. Some also questioned the health benefits of doing so, a belief contradicted by health experts and the . &nbsp;The post that went up Friday morning had close to 4,000 likes and had been shared nearly 3,000 times a day later.&nbsp;Foster, who is followed by over 36,000 people, also said he wouldn’t require staff or customers at his restaurant to wear masks – no matter the consequences."I have not worn a mask at my business yet and I have not made any of my employees or customers, and I will not be making them wear one either. If they choose to wear one, and some do, then I will support them as I have been...If people don’t like how I’m running my business, or think it’s not safe, they don’t have to come support my business. If my employees don’t like it, or don’t feel safe, they can quit. That’s how free markets work," he said.&nbsp;Foster’s call for civil disobedience comes as DeSoto County, and other highly populated counties in the state, continue to see a surge in coronavirus cases. The state Health Officer, Dr. Thomas Dobbs said on Thursday many hospitals in the state are beyond capacity. In some cases, patients are being sent out of state for care. &nbsp;The recent surge in cases have been traced back to large social gatherings where the use of masks and social distancing recommendations have gone unheeded, health experts have said.But to Foster, the mask mandate ordered by&nbsp;Reeves, is a restriction on personal liberty and free choice. &nbsp;&nbsp;"Mask or no mask, to each their own. If it makes you feel safer then I support your decision to wear one. Just stop trying to impose your will upon everyone else," he said.&nbsp;
