Contextual article by Amy Held of NPR recounting a girls death from Malaria, after the declaration of malaria free Europe in 2015. Statistics, links, and possible reasons this incident could've happened help give a well rounded account.

Author Amy Held does a terrific job of making it clear what we do and do not yet know about this tragic death. This a story worth following closely, as a malaria free Europe was a huge accomplishment that will be very deadly if reversed. It will be interesting to see if climate change has already allowed certain types of mosquitos to emerge in new areas of the world.
