Skip to contentOne of the greatest things about being a golfer in today’s world is the access to the knowledge and expertise of the best golf instructors in the world.&nbsp;&nbsp;I could have only dreamed of this type of information being free in the 1990s and early 2000’s as I was learning the game and trying to reach my full potential.And this information is mainly free due to sites like youtube and other video hosting sites.&nbsp;&nbsp;The struggle for many is knowing where to turn when they are hitting the ball poorly or lacking in one area of the game.Over the past 6 years, I set out to reach the scratch level of golf.&nbsp; I utilized countless youtube videos, my golf simulator setup in a my garage and a passion for game improvement to finally reach that level in the summer of 2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;I want to share with you the top 7 video that I utilized and are my “go to” videos when I need a refresher or want to help one of my golfing friends or students.Resource: Top 10 Best Online Golf InstructorsGolf is a sport that requires precision, technique, and practice. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced golfer aiming to refine your skills, YouTube has become a valuable resource for golfers of all levels. With its vast library of instructional videos, YouTube offers a convenient and accessible way to learn and improve your golf game from the comfort of your own home.Are you ready?&nbsp; Here we go!Why: In this video Pete Cowen, a famous and well known top teacher and former player, helps Danny Maude, another top teacher and youtube, finally understand the swing.&nbsp; The way Pete Cowen approaches the swing seems easy to follow and repeatable.&nbsp; So many instructors can get caught up in the all of the different positions, but Mr. Cowen seems to make it appear simple to understand and laves Danny with drills he can utilize.Why: Many golfers start off playing golf hitting a slice.&nbsp; It can lead some people to giving up on the game.&nbsp; The dreaded slice is a swing that robs the golfer of distance and makes playing golf difficult.&nbsp; Enter Shawn Clement into the picture.&nbsp; His unique style of relying on the natural ability of your mind and body to produce an outcome, Shawn helps the golfer by explaining the setup and helping the golfer focus the attention on the target and the necessary movement to create a good swing.&nbsp; Shawn isn’t a positional coach, instead he believe int he perpetual motion approach and getting the golfer to react to the target with a sensation of “throwing the club” towards the target.Resource: Complete Shawn Clement ReviewWhy: Golfers of all levels seem to get lost in the weeds when it comes to the golf swing.&nbsp; They are worried about where the club is at every point in the swing.&nbsp; They become ball bound and end up making poor contact.&nbsp; Enter Milo Lines.&nbsp; An athletic based coach, he teaches the 1, 2 and 3 swing.&nbsp; Each of a different length with different hinges involved, but helps the golfer become focus on making a simple move.There are some golfers that if they spent all winter hitting 1s and 2s (see video below), they would start the season with a manageable swing and hitting pure irons that stay online.&nbsp; Of course you do!&nbsp; What if you could gain more distance without losing accuracy?&nbsp; You would take it!&nbsp; We all could benefit from hitting the ball further.&nbsp; The data is really clear on the importance of distance.&nbsp; Padraig Harrington is living proof that we can add swing speed and total distance at a variety of different ages.&nbsp; The 3 time major championship winner shares some great insight on gaining swing speed and overall distance.&nbsp; I am rather impressed with his teaching style and his approach to helping amateurs on his journey to dominate the champions tour and still compete in majors on the regular tour.Why: Raise your hand if you were ever advised to “take it low and slow” on the backswing.&nbsp; Someone may have said, take your time, don’t be in such a hurry.&nbsp; Just let the backswing settle in.&nbsp; The reality is that the best players on the planet have a fast backswing (produces more speed) and a tempo that is found in the 3:1 ration.&nbsp; These range from 27:9, 24:8, 21:7 and even 18:6.&nbsp; Most golfers on tour today are in the 21:7.&nbsp; This is the number of video frames on the backswing and then the downswing.&nbsp; You might be surprised to learn that some amateurs are in the 40 range on their backing and over 10 on their downswing.&nbsp; But why?&nbsp; It comes down to the skill of having low point control the golf swing.&nbsp; We believe in three keys in any good golf swing:If you don’t have quality low point control, it is difficult to play the game.&nbsp;
