Look here.I’ve been making this Chocolate Banana Ice Cream in the Thermomix for T for many years.I’ll always remember afternoon after afternoon sitting on the patio in the summer, eating this together when she was tiny.It was more of a soft-serve back then as I would make it on the spot.But now I make it ahead and put it in the freezer to have later.In fact, 2-3 hours is enough for it to harden a fair bit to be able to scoop it out.You can leave it in the freezer for days, the maximum I've left it has been a couple of weeks.In these photos you can see my biggest batch yet, 690 g of frozen bananas.It filled two plastic tubs!Try blitzing it in your blender or food processor, it should work just fine!Always think of it as one banana per person.Break each banana in 3-4 chunks so that you know how many chunks make a banana.1 heaped tablespoon of cocoa powder or raw cacao powder per banana.So, for every 3-4 chunks of banana you add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder or raw cacao powder.When using cocoa powder I tend to choose Green and Black's.This is something we've started doing in the last few months because there is a Dark Chocolate and Rose water Jack's Gelato that T loves:1 tablespoon rose water per banana, I use the Steenbergs brand.No, it doesn’t taste like Turkish Delight.In fact, I do not like Turkish delight but I love rose water in this ice cream.What else could you add?Chocolate chips?Raw Cacao Nibs?Do them in reverse for a few seconds at the end.Place the bananas (try to snap the chunks away from each other so that you can place them around the blades) and cocoa powder in the bowl: 2 seconds on Turbo. Scrape downAdd the rose water if using: 30 seconds speed 10.Scrape down. I like using a silicone spatula for this.30 seconds speed 10. Scrape down30 seconds speed 10. Scrape down.30 seconds speed 10. Scrape down. Once it looks like this, it's done! Of course, it may not quite get the swirl if you are using a small amount and it doesn't quite cover the blades.The amount of times you need to do bursts of 30 seconds will depend on contents.Always do the 2 seconds on Turbo then bursts of 30 seconds on speed 10, scraping down in between until it looks like in the photo above.Then either eat as a bit of a soft serve or transfer to tubs in the freezer for a few hours (or days) for more of an ice cream consistency that you can scoop out.I sometimes freeze in individual containers too (portion control but also what can I fit in the freezer control!).I do it in my Thermomix but you should be able to do it in a powerful blender tooPrint RecipePin RecipeShare on Facebook
