It's actually something of an open secret in the culinary world that homemade ketchup is one of the few items that does not taste better than store bought. If you watch any video on making homemade ketchup, almost all of them will tell you before hand that you probably shouldn't take the time, because it doesn't taste as good. That said, that doesn't mean this is a good article. It seems like it's supposed to be humorous or something, but provides no real substance or new information.

First, this isn't news. Second, you can tell from the headline that this is pure opinion and the first sentence guarantees what you'll get in value for the rest of the article.

This is either pure opinion or worse, a poorly hidden advertisement for Heinz ketchup. I'm not sure why Vice does this kind of coverage when it waters down some of their more serious reporting.

I don't need to know this guys' opinion on ketchup. Waste of time.
