They’re trying to rebook reservations. I think a lot of the lodging properties are trying to not necessarily refund at this point because that is super devastating. As of Wednesday morning, , the state announced.The stay-at-home order will start just before midnight on Thursday, the reported. It affects 13 counties in Northern California: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo&nbsp;and Yuba.The order only applies to the California side of Lake Tahoe. The Nevada side has its own set of business guidelines. While the stay-at-home order prohibits traveling, outdoor recreation remains open.The order will require multiple sectors and businesses to shut down. All outdoor dining and personal care businesses, such as barbers, hair salons and nail salons, will be forced to close. Retail outlets will be required to limit their customers to 20% capacity. Residents will also be required to stay at home except for their essential jobs and basic household tasks.One key sector in Tahoe that will be affected is tourism, which has boomed during the pandemic. Under , hotels cannot accept tourists (neither in nor out-of-state), only essential workers, those who are homeless or those who need to quarantine because of COVID."When the Regional Stay Home Order is in effect in a region," the state order reads, "hotels and lodging can only offer accommodation for COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures, treatment measures, accommodation for essential workers, or providing housing solutions, including measures to protect homeless populations."Campgrounds in state parks in the affected area will also close, California State Parks wrote in . "Affected reservation holders will be contacted by ReserveCalifornia via email," the agency added. "Cancellations &amp; refunds will be automatic."The stay-at-home order will be in place for at least three weeks, from Friday to Jan. 1, and possibly longer if ICU capacity does not improve.
