This is a very balanced and well-sourced report, with no discernible bias from the author. The article even includes a quote about Newsom's possible hypocrisy as he allows fracking in the state to continue. As for the story itself, there is a quote that discusses how these zero-emission vehicles need to be affordable for Californians. I would argue that the used-car market, which will remain in existence, is an adequate option, and that if the true cost of gas-powered vehicles was priced in to account for pollution and climate change, that those vehicles would be absurdly expensive. Therefore, I'd argue that oil and gas-powered vehicles have had an unfair advantage in the marketplace until now.
